Well, I have been meaning to do this for a while, but have been pretty busy. Missy and I got the keys to our new house about 3 weeks ago and we have been working on it non-stop ever since. Originally we had set out to find a house that would require minimal work and be "move-in ready". We found a great house on the NW side of Grand Rapids, and decided that we really wanted it. When we finally got it, we decided that the carpet could get pulled out (there are hardwoods underneath), nearly 75% of the house could be painted, and the bathroom needed some updating. The carpet came out, the walls were painted, and the bathroom ended up being gutted. What started as a simple floor replacement turned into a total overhaul. I realized after all the flooring and fixtures had been taken out, that I didn't know how to put in a new bathroom. I read up on it and realized that it isn't as hard as it looks and now the bathroom looks fine. The rest of the house looks great too now that we have pictures and various other objects hanging on the walls. There are still plenty of little odd jobs to do, but nothing real major.
